The Coastal Challenge 2025

OFFICIAL COMMUNICATIONS:

  • All official communications will initially be made public through the only currently official race webpage: www.thecoastalchallengecostarica.com as well as the official Facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/thecoastalchallenge

  • NO communication is official until it’s released by the official communication channels.

  • Frequent race news updates will be sent by the organization regarding important news and updates for registered racers. These will be the only official newsletters for the event.

TENTS & CAMPING:

  • Individual (1 person) or double (2 person) tents will be provided by TCC for all Racers and Guests for the 6 nights during the event (sunday feb. 9th to friday feb. 14th) and all tent set ups and packaging will be taken care of by TCC staff.

  • Racers and Guests can still choose to bring their own tent, accepting they will be responsible for daily set ups and packaging and no TCC staff will be responsible for this participant personal camping gear.

Pre and Post Race Lodging and other services:

  • Pre race lodging (saturday feb.8th) is not included.

  • Post race lodging (saturday feb.15th) is not included.

  • This additional services such as hotels, flights, tours, transportation or any other services are to be charged as separate packages to the racer and are NOT necessary conditions to assist the race.

  • Eduardo Baldioceda (TCC Agent) will be offering assistance in these or any other services through the local travel agency Real Costa Rica Vacations: www.realcostaricavacations.com .

PAYMENT DETAILS AND SLOT SECURING CONDITIONS:

TOTAL SLOTS AVAILABLE: 125 places.

  1. PROVISIONAL SLOT SECURING:
    In order to secure a slot, a registration deposit in the amount of $600 USD has to be paid towards TCC Costa Rica to Race Director´s Account.

  2. NEXT PAYMENTS:
    $800 in July and $800 in October and the last payment before the 15th of November to complete the full amount.

  3. PAYMENTS CONFIRMATION:
    The participant is responsible for informing his/her TCC Agent via email each time a payment is made and include copies of all wire transfer slips for crosscheck purposes.

  4. FINAL PAYMENT DATE:
    Racers and guests that have started their registration procedure must have completed their payment before November 15th.

  5. EXCEPTION TO FINAL PAYMENT DATE:
    If there are still slots available after December 10th, last minute racers will be allowed to enter the race; they must send full or pending amount of race registration in one single wire transfer to TCC in Costa Rica.

  6. FINAL REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION:
    Once TCC Costa Rica receives full payment for an athlete or group of athletes and/or guests, an email will give final confirmation notice to their TCC Agent.

  7. PARTICIPATION DENIAL:
    If a participant or guest arrives in Costa Rica and has not paid the FULL amount owed, registration and number won’t be issued until the participant or his/her TCC Agent pays the pending balance.

REFUNDS AND ROLLOVER

  • ALL registration deposits are NON refundable.

  • Rollover will apply ONLY to participants that have paid the total amount of registration by November 15th and that have a strong enough reason to be accepted.

  • This will be reviewed by the Race Directors and they will decide if the Rollover proceeds or not.

  • In the case the appeal is accepted, Rollover will only be valid for the following edition of the Race, and if it is not used the amount and the slot will be permanently lost with no possibility of a refund.

INSURANCE

  • No Insurance is included in registration fees.
  • It is MANDATORY for participants to purchase Travel/Event Insurance in order to be able to apply for refunds of their fees or travel expenditures in any case. (TCC wil NOT be responsible by ANY means if a participant chooses to NOT purchase this mandatory Insurance). 

  • All participants MUST HAVE Travel Insurance in order to collect from their insurer the registration fee paid in case of any situation; the organization will NOT issue refunds to any participant under any circumstance. 

  • It is MANDATORY for participants to carry valid Medical Insurance to cover ALL possible medical, rescue and repatriation costs while participating in The Coastal Challenge.
